Dokumentar

Dokumentar is a soon-to-be-released online platform that will publish news, reviews and content regarding Romanian documentaries. It seeks to become a full database of Romanian documentary films and it will also include support for Video On Demand (VOD).

We worked together with the people behind the project to establish a brand identity in preparation for their release.

Branding and Design

Because the team at Dokumentar had no brand identity or design elements beforehand, we created a logo and multiple predefined materials such as banners, flyers, business cards and more.

We created mockups using these designs to illustrate our vision.

Although beyond the scope of the initial phase, we also provided website mockups to show the direction we would like to take the subsequent UI design in.

The whole concept as well as rules of use for the logo, the colours, fonts and design elements were compiled into a brandbook that was handed to the client.

This guide is a rule book for the correct use of the brand identity elements and is helpful when working with an extended team of graphic designers, social media managers and web designers.

Casa Musicescu

Casa Musicescu

After a successful restoration of the historic building called The Musicescu House (Casa Musicescu), located in our hometown of Iași, Romania, the investors and new owners made the decision to mark the important event with a short documentary about the building’s history, the drama it endured during two world wars and multiple decades of neglect.

The film that resulted is the sum of a multi-team effort to capture the The Musicescu House’s story in a format that can be experienced by an international audience.

Co-writing and voice-over

While INX Films took on the gargantuan task of researching, animating hundred-year-old maps, restoring degraded photos and editing the documentary, it was StudioAlb‘s job to film all the building angles, interiors, the presenter, interviews, drone shots and more.

It was our responsibility here at Musket to assist INX Films on writing the script, interviewing the historian and the engineer that worked on the restoration project, as well as to provide the voice-over for the documentary.

Presenting and film score

As this type of documentary required a presenter, we lent our own Marius to do the work on camera.

The film also boasts an original musical soundtrack, or film score, that we agreed on together with a composer (Antonius Slubczakowsky). We took part in tailoring the music to the script, feel and outcome of the documentary alongside INX Films.

We are honoured to have been a part of this huge project.

Autism Romania

Autism Romania

Autism Romania is an NGO that helps adults and children with autism, as well as their parents, find support and a place in their communities.

After years of dealing with government institutions and liaising with families to assist them in getting the care they needed, Autism Romania decided to set up a website that would function as a directory of resources to speed up the process of making the match between the parties.

We were honoured to be part of the project.

A helping hand

The directory functions as a listing of different services, specialists, doctors, care centers and more. Users are able to easily filter through listings to find what they need for their loved ones and to get in touch with the service providers directly.

Service providers are able to register on the directory through a form that we set up which asks for their credentials, diplomas, what accessibility features their clinics offer and more. Each service provider is vetted manually by Autism Romania to make sure that only the best and most relevant applicants make it online.

As a further step in helping families from vulnerable backgrounds, Autism Romania also provides a path through Romanian government bureaucracy by storing official form templates for different institutions. This way families of people with autism have a helping hand in caring for their loved ones.

Eurocontact

Eurocontact is a company that offers translation services in a great number of languages. Their goal is to give everyone access to quality translation services, especially foreign students looking to have their university diplomas recognised abroad.

We were happy to be able to provide our web development services and help them stay true to their mission to reach their target audience.

Web Design and Dev

Eurocontact requested a vibrant website with playful elements that still looked professional and suggested quality care towards customers.

We implemented a colourful design with large text that was easy to read on the go.

Our main focus was to underline the primary services offered by Eurocontact and help foreign students navigate their way to the Eurocontact office, digitally but also in the city.

Multilingual

Of course, one main feature of a website for a company that does translations is to have it be accessible in more than one language.

Under the guidance of the Eurocontact team we were able to implement three languages on the website: English, Romanian and French, while also leaving the door open for future languages to be added.

Forj

Forj are an equipment supplier that started their business in Romania in mid 2022. They provide high quality 3D printers for the medical industry (dental clinics primarily), as well as supplies and accessories. Forj also offers 24/7 support and on-site technical assistance with the products that they ship out, meaning that their clients can always rest assured that they are in good hands with the setting up the equipment or if they need repairs or replacement parts.

Branding and Design

Working with Forj required a detailed discussion with their team about expectations, their place in the market and need for high fidelity, high quality and heavy duty 3D printers in the dental industry.

We started by defining a brand identity with a strong name (Forj = Forge) and an impactful visual design for their company.

Web design

When discussing the design of their future website, the team at Forj requested a strong and clear layout that would suit an online shop. We landed upon a design that feels simply familiar, yet still retains all the functionalities you would expect from an ecommerce website.

The products are presented clearly, with large images that reflect the true size of these printers, the largest of which towers above a real life workspace.

Video production

In order for the team at Forj to reach potential clients, they needed a strong video that was short enough to be catchy, but also detailed enough to show what they were offering.

Our take on this was to start with a slow reveal of one of their products and work our way towards an actual use case, an example of how a dental clinic might use this product in their daily business activities.

In the most recent Silicon Service project we worked on designing print materials for a job fair, local advertising and employee IDs.

Among what was needed were roll-ups, flyers and business cards.

Starting from the company logo and brand book, our designers created enticing visuals that worked very well in attracting new talent during the job fair, but can also be carried over for other uses, such as the website and social media posts.

With changing times comes the need to change the website. Silicon Service needed a new website with a fresh and simple layout to present their new business direction.

We created a new website that’s easy to navigate while maintaining some of their original character.

6 pages of short company presentations, a team member list and plenty of photos and graphics.

Silicon Service understand the importance of content. So when they asked us to create a company video, take care of website and print copywriting we knew what needed to be done.

We created a dynamic company video focused on the human side of the business.

Copywriting was taken care of for both online and offline pages.

In the past, Silicon Service have asked us to create animations with voice overs for their products. You can see the recent company video, as well as one animation with voice over that we created for Silicon Service below.

OM Fest

OmFest

Every year in June, OmFest celebrates World Refugee Day in Bucharest. Started back in 2018, the festival is dedicated to multiculturalism and the power, the courage and the perseverance of over 65 milion people which have a refugee status throughout the world.

From the very first edition, Musket was one of the partners. Every year was different, with new challenges and more services to provide, from PR to event organising. We love this project because it always finds new ways of making the voices of refugees matter – so, we’re looking forward to the next edition!

PR and Press Releases

Our team has a long lasting relationship with the media. It was only natural for our first collaboration with OmFest to go that route and we put all our contacts and our know-how to work. Through the main news agency in Romania, Agerpres, to one of the most relevant news TV stations, Digi24 and many other media outlets, we were able to reach a wide audience.

Working with products that are on a very clear niche is always challenging when you have to convince the media to take a look at your press release. And more still, to publish it or cover it in their news programme. But we never say no to difficult projects. We love to prove that nothing is impossible.

Event Organising

We’ve organised events before, but OmFest was different from the very first edition. Multiple venues, public and private institutions to partner with, a budget to raise and a team to lead. Many volunteers, friends of the festival, people willing to get involved in celebrating World Refugee Day in Bucharest.

The first discussions on the subject and regarding the funds we rely on start around 6-8 months before the actual event. Depending on the main topic we start booking the bands that will play, the places where it will all happen, as well as the other administrative aspects.

Burger house and premium fast food restaurant, Namaho opened their doors in 2020, two weeks before the first lockdown. Despite the challenges they not only survived, but are now thriving.

Namaho are one of our Enterprise clients, meaning that the scope of work we provided covered everything from their first idea to start a business, branding and product naming to marketing before launch, their first website, first months of social media management and more. We didn’t even say no to product testing. We’re professionals.

Starting from just an idea, we had to work through multiple naming and design phases to reach an agreed upon brand.

Our philosophy is that branding can’t be a dicatorship, especially with new, small businesses. Clients must have a say in the designing of the final product because they deserve to.

We believe in guiding businesses to find their voice, not forcing ours on them.

Products were also named in accordance with the theme of the restaurant and we paid attention to small details that would enhance the experience of future customers.

Interior Concepts

We advised in favour of a certain style of interior design and provided digital mockups of the interior with suggestions on materials, colours, furniture and lighting.

Our service also included product and material sourcing, as well as mediating deals between our clients and other service providers and manufacturers.

As for exterior design, we continued with digital mockups and illustrations as guides and a proof of concept, finding that the design materials were fit to be used in marketing, too.

We again guided towards a certain look, provided support in sourcing materials, contacting providers on behalf of our client and finding solutions to issues of adapting digital designs to the real world.

Packaging Design

Following the naming phase for products in the menu, we worked on designing packaging concepts.

Just as in designing the interior and exterior, our services also covered reaching out to suppliers that fit the needs of our client in terms of quality, materials and of course price and availability.

Packaging design also led to conceiving new product bundles as a side effect of the process as well as the mockups becoming content in their own right to be used in social media.

Product Photography

We also provided photo services for Namaho with their first range of products, creating mouth-watering pictures of their burgers and other dishes to use in the initial social media campaigns, but also later for various posts and even print materials.

Photo services also included documenting the beginnings of a new business, to be used in later “Our Story” type posts or website pages.

Raising the bar

We’re constantly looking for ways to innovate when it comes to brand identity, marketing and product presentation and we’re always pushing the boundaries on what clients can expect when shopping around for food.

That’s why we’re implementing 3D models into our strategy to make Namaho’s products even harder to resist.

Even in small towns like where Namaho operates, there is still huge competition when it comes to restaurants. This means that our social media game needs to be strong.

We work closely with Namaho to understand their current sale reports and their needs moving forward. By using Facebook, Instagram and TikTok we manage to stay relevant to their target audience.

There’s also the weekend food related meme that keeps people waiting to see what we come up with next.

They also help business owners find funds to run small enterprises and hire people with mental and physical disabilities, giving everyone a chance at a decent job and helping marginalised individuals find a sense of pride and self-esteem.

We worked on over 40 voice overs for ADV so far and the project is still ongoing.

Our voice overs have accompanied their film productions on the social enterprises that they assist and share heartwarming stories about the struggles and successes that the business owners but also the disadvantaged people or with disabilities and their children experience.

Dunwell

Dunwell is the first and strongest real estate agency specialised in industrial & land brokerage in Romania. We’ve known them for many years, long before Dunwell showed up on the market and they were one of the clients we really enjoyed working with.

Being a new brand in their industry, they really needed to impress and come up with original ideas which their competitors couldn’t keep up with. And their idea was to have a yearly report on the market they work in, but with video. More specifically, a video animation.

Video Animation

The requirements were clear from the start: keep it short and make it as easy to watch and understand as possible. Also, it needed to have a voice over in native English, to be showcased in an international real estate fair from abroad which Dunwell was taking part in.

It took us less than 2 months to put everything together, animate what initially was a PDF file, write a compelling script to make it watchable, record the voice over and make all the necessary revisions. And we know exactly what the secret ingredient for a video animation is: pay very close attention to detail. We did exactly that and convinced the client to return 1 year later to ask for another video.
